Uplevel Your Blog With This Blogging Challenge

June is here and I am so ready for the warm weather to arrive. Last month, in my Facebook group, we did a 31 days of May Blogging Challenge.

It was so great that I have decided to share it here so that you can start to uplevel your blog and take it to the next level.

I know that I can’t be the only one who LOVES doing short challenges. I have so many saved on my Pinterest that I probably couldn’t do them all. HAHAHA!

What I noticed though was that the blogging ones were not interesting. They were all about writing about yourself and to me, that isn’t what a blogging challenge should be. This blogging challenge is like nothing that you have seen or done before. So I hope that you are ready!!

WHY A BLOGGING CHALLENGE?

I think we are often looking for ways to challenge our growth and figure out how we can build ourselves up and our blogs. We may just not know how to do it and so we don’t try to figure it out.

I am going to break this challenge down daily so that if you don’t understand one of the days, come back to this blog and see what it is about. Some days are easier than others but this challenge is meant to push your boundaries and your comfort zone and help you to build your blog even more.

31 days is short enough to stay motivated but long enough to begin to see growth and change.

A few things to remember…

  • You can start this challenge at any time
  • You can redo this challenge as many times as you want
  • You can download the image of the 31 days and use it to remember what needs to be done
  • Bookmark this blog post so that you can easily come back to it if you have any questions
  • If you download the image and share it, please remember that this is my copyrighted content and share where you got the challenge from
  • If you want to share the challenge with your audience, tag me and I would love to know who is sharing it

Are you ready to jump into this challenge and get started?

31 day blogging challenge

31 DAY BLOGGING CHALLENGE

Each day will be here with an explanation of what needs to be done. That way if you don’t understand, you can use this blog post as a reference.

DAY ONE: PLAN OUT JUNE BLOGGING CONTENT

This one is easy. What blog posts do you want to publish for the month of June? Grab a calendar and write them on the dates that you want them to go live. You don’t need to have titles picked out. You can just write in the topics and come up with titles later.

DAY TWO: CHECK YOUR BLOG INSIGHTS AND WRITE THEM DOWN

Numbers are important. This gives us a starting point as to where your numbers currently are. On the first of every month, I check all of my numbers and write them into a Trello board that I created. This helps me stay consistent when I check and helps so that I don’t get consumed with all of my numbers.

DAY THREE: COMMENT ON 3 DIFFERENT BLOG POSTS IN YOUR NICHE

This is a great way to start seeing what blog content is out there in your niche BUT it also is a great way to start building relationships with other bloggers. It can be used as a link-building strategy but doesn’t work like it used to so I don’t recommend doing it for that. However, I do have consistent traffic from some of the comments that I have left on other blog posts.

DAY FOUR: SHARE A QUOTE FROM YOUR LATEST BLOG POST AND POST IT ON 1 SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM

Take a line or two from any blog post and create a graphic with it. Share it on at least one social media platform. A great way to get traffic to an old post.

DAY FIVE: REACH OUT TO 3 BLOGGERS TO BE A GUEST BLOGGER ON THEIR SITE

I wish that I would have started sooner with this. I wish that I would have been more consistent with this. It is so important to guest blog and to help build up your authority. Start today!!

DAY SIX: SHARE AN OLD BLOG POST TO IG & FB STORIES

A great way to get some eyes on old blog posts is to create a new graphic and share it with your stories on IG and FB.

DAY SEVEN: MAKE 3 PINTEREST PINS & SCHEDULE THEM FOR DIFFERENT DAYS & BOARDS

You can use different blog posts or you can create the three pins from a single post. The choice is totally yours!

DAY EIGHT: CREATE AN EMAIL LIST FOR YOUR BLOGGING WEBSITE

Another thing that I wish I had done sooner. Having an email list is a great way to get your readers in contact with you. Create a freebie and add it to your blogging website. I use Flodesk and love them.

DAY NINE: CREATE A CONTENT UPGRADE FOR AN UPCOMING BLOG POST

What is a content upgrade? In simple terms, it is a freebie or an opt-in that is geared towards that specific blog post. Check above where I share the Trello board. That is a content upgrade.

DAY TEN: START WRITING A ROUNDUP POST FEATURING 3-5 BLOGGERS IN YOUR NICHE

Once you create this blog post, send it to the bloggers that you featured and ask them to share it!

DAY ELEVEN: REACH OUT TO 3 PEOPLE TO DO GUEST APPEARANCES

Think outside of guest blogging. Instagram lives, online summits, Facebook lives, podcast interviews.

DAY TWELVE: BRAINSTORM A LIST OF 10+ BLOG POST TOPICS TO WRITE ABOUT

Write all of these ideas into the Trello board and keep them when you need them.

DAY THIRTEEN: CREATE AN INFOGRAPHIC FROM A BLOG POST & SHARE IT WITH OTHER BLOGGERS

Turn your blog post into an infographic and share it with other bloggers in your niche. Ask them to share it with their audiences. Great way to get backlinks in a different way.

DAY FOURTEEN: CREATING A BLOGGING MEDIA KIT TO SHARE WHEN REACHING OUT

A media kit is a great way to easily share all of your information when reaching out to others. Whether you are looking to reach out to another small business or to another blogger, having a media kit will help you reach out consistently.

DAY FIFTEEN: CREATE A FB PAGE FOR YOUR BLOG

You should have a Facebook page for your blog. If you ever decide to monetize, it gives you the option to run ads. It is also a great way to keep readers updated on everything going on.

DAY SIXTEEN: ASK 3 FRIENDS OR FAMILY TO SHARE A BLOG POST

Don’t be afraid to ask friends or family to share blog posts for you. The worst they can say is no.

DAY SEVENTEEN: START A COURSE ON SOMETHING YOU WANT TO LEARN

Learning is a big piece of creating your blogging vision. I believe that you should always keep learning so write a list of things that you want to learn. I love using Udemy for courses.

DAY EIGHTEEN: BRAINSTORM & CREATE YOUR BLOGGING CONTENT PILLARS

Your blogging content pillars are the main topics as to what you are going to write about. Knowing what your content pillars are is going to make creating your content easier. Here is a blog post more on creating your blogging content pillars.

DAY NINETEEN: START MAPPING OUT HOW YOU CAN MONETIZE YOUR BLOG

If you currently aren’t monetizing, start brainstorming ways that you can do that. Create a monetization plan to help you create an income through your blog. Read here to learn more about monetizing your blog.

DAY TWENTY: REVIEW AND/OR SET UP YOUR BLOGGING CATEGORIES

Your blogging categories are an important way to show anyone who comes to your blog what you talk about. Make sure that your categories still align with your blog.

DAY TWENTY ONE: REACH OUT TO 3 BLOGGERS IN YOUR SHOULDER NICHES TO GUEST BLOG FOR

This is a great way to get in front of new audiences that are relevant to your niche but may not be the same. Your shoulder niches are important because they are topics and niches that are similar to yours. They are relevant to your audience and to your niche because they are connected in some way.

DAY TWENTY TWO: INVITE 2 OR 3 PEOPLE TO GUEST BLOG ON YOUR SITE

You don’t only have to guest blog on other bloggers’ sites, you can invite others to post on your site. This is a great way to get fresh content without having to do the work. Make sure that those who guest post on your site are relevant to your audience.

DAY TWENTY THREE: PLAN OUT YOUR JULY BLOGGING CONTENT

Get ahead of the game and start planning out your July blogging content.

DAY TWENTY FOUR: SHARE YOUR LATEST BLOG POST IN MY FACEBOOK GROUP

Come join my FB group and you can share your latest blog post. We would love to have you there!!

DAY TWENTY FIVE: TURN AN OLD BLOG POST INTO 10 NEW CONTENT PIECES

This is a great way to revive old blog posts. Create 10 new content graphics and share them on different social media platforms.

DAY TWENTY SIX: WRITE A NEW TYPE OF BLOG POST THAT YOU HAVEN’T TRIED BEFORE

There are so many different types of blog posts that you can write. Experiment with a different type and see what happens.

DAY TWENTY SEVEN: COMMENT ON 3 DIFFERENT BLOG POSTS IN YOUR NICHE

Start making some connections and comment on other blogs. Have fun with this!!!

DAY TWENTY EIGHT: CREATE LEGAL PAGES FOR YOUR WEBSITE

The legal pages that you want to make sure you have on your website are:

  • Disclaimer
  • Terms and Conditions
  • Privacy Policy

DAY TWENTY NINE: JOIN A BLOGGING FORUM RELATED TO YOUR NICHE

A few examples of forums to join:

  • Reddit
  • Digital Point
  • Feedspot
  • Facebook Groups

DAY THIRTY: POST A BLOG LINK IN A FB GROUP THAT ALLOWS IT

You took the time to write the post, share it!!!

DAY THIRTY ONE: REVIEW THE MONTH AND CHECK NUMBERS

What worked this month?

What did you love to do?

What did you hate to do?

Check your numbers and see if they improved.

That is the 31-day blogging challenge. I hope that you enjoy doing it through the next 31 days. I know I will be doing it again.
